Envisioning a Modern Ground Floor: A Buyer's Story

This particular project began with a specific vision: to transform the ground floor of a house to perfectly align with a discerning buyer's every wish. It was about more than just renovation; it was about reimagining a space to become their ideal home.

The Ground Floor's Initial Hurdles

When we first explored the property, it was clear why it hadn't yet found its perfect match. The main social areas felt disconnected, lacking a natural focal point for gathering. The kitchen, somewhat of an afterthought, was both dated and tucked away from where the real living happened. There was just a small cloakroom – a far cry from the wetroom the buyers had their hearts set on for the ground floor. They also dreamed of blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor, wanting a seamless connection with the garden for entertaining. And of course, a dedicated TV snug was high on their list, along with a complete modernisation of the dated layout and design.

Crafting the Transformation

Our solution was a series of strategic interventions, each designed to bring their vision to life. We began by opening up the entrance, instantly creating a bright, airy hall that drew the eye straight through to the garden, inviting the outside in. The old, isolated kitchen was cleverly relocated, now becoming the vibrant heart of the social space. The space it left behind was perfectly repurposed into the new, highly functional wetroom. The existing study, with a few clever adjustments, became the much-desired, cosy TV snug. Crucially, the grand old chimney and fireplace were not just retained, but celebrated, becoming the stunning focal point they deserved. Throughout this transformation, we infused the entire design with a mid-century aesthetic, leaning into natural materials and a calming colour palette, perfectly mirroring the buyers' sophisticated taste.
