Interior Mentoring

*Each session is 1.5 hours

Taking the lead on your own home renovation is an exciting journey, and we’re here to provide expert support every step of the way. You know how you want your home to feel; our Interior Mentoring sessions help you bridge the gap between those great ideas and a functional, architectural reality. We provide the professional insight and creative logic you need to move forward with confidence, while you stay firmly in the driver’s seat of your project.

We love working with hands-on homeowners who enjoy the process but value a professional second opinion. You can "drop in" for a session whenever you hit a roadblock or simply need a fresh perspective to move forward.

While we can discuss any part of your home, we find it’s most helpful to work from the "core" outwards, tackling structural essentials like layouts, openings, and services first, before moving into the world of furniture and finishes.

All consultations are held virtually for maximum flexibility. If you prefer to meet at your property to walk through the space in person, this can be arranged within our service area (subject to a travel fee).

How it works

1

Once your purchase is complete, we will send you a confirmation email containing a link for you to upload all the information you have (this gives us time to go over it so the sessions is 100% efficient).

2

During the session we go over the information and any relevant question you have. If the session runs a little over don't worry, we will not charge you for another unless it becomes obvious you need another hour or the best part of it.

3

As you go along the design process, you can book a session anytime you want to discuss new subjects or an issue that has risen during the renovations (follow step one and purchase the additional session this time).

4

All sessions are virtual unless you want it in person. In that case, let us know your location before you purchase the session so that we can discuss availability and travel fee.

Frequently asked questions
(for Interior Mentoring)

How to Prepare for Your Session?

To help us hit the ground running, we recommend having the following ready: Accurate measurements of the room (including windows, doors, and fixed elements like chimney breasts); Photos and a 'walkthrough' video of the space; Your inspiration (Pinterest, Instagram, or clippings); A 'Must-Haves' list of what needs to change; and any specific 'sticky' questions you want to solve.

What can we cover during a session?

We can explore everything from the structural 'bones' of your home to final styling. I find it most effective to work from the inside out: first, we perfect the layout and 'invisible' essentials, like moving walls, plumbing, and electrics. Once that foundation is solid, we can dive into the exciting details like built-in furniture, lighting, and finishes.

What if I’m right at the beginning and have no ideas yet?

That is actually a perfect time for a session. We can use the time to look at the 'blank canvas' of your property and discuss different architectural directions. I can help you identify hidden potential you might have missed, giving you a solid starting point for your project.

Can we talk about 'boring' things like radiators, sockets, and plumbing?

Yes, and we should! These are the things that make a home functional. I can help you plan where your 'services' should go so they don't interfere with your furniture layout later. Getting these right early on saves you a lot of money and stress once the builders arrive.

Will you tell me if my ideas won't work?

I believe in professional honesty. If an idea might be structurally impossible, overly expensive, or make the room feel cramped, I will tell you. My goal is to make sure you spend your budget on changes that actually improve your life and your home’s value.

What happens if we run out of time?

If we are in the middle of a great breakthrough but our hour is up, don’t worry. We will carry on and, when we finish, you can log in to the website and pay for the additional time used.

What if I don't use all my time in one go?

Sessions are generally used in a single sitting to maintain momentum. However, if for any unforeseen reason we aren't able to complete the full session, we can easily pause and pick up exactly where we left off at a later stage that suits you.

Do I get a set of drawings after the session?

The mentoring service is for professional guidance. While we may sketch ideas or mark up plans during our call, it does not include formal architectural drawings or 3D renders. If you require those, our Bespoke Design or 3D Virtual Staging packages might be a better fit.

Can I use our session as a final plan to start construction?

Our session provides professional vision and layout logic, but does not replace technical construction documents. Before beginning structural work, removing walls, or changing plumbing/electrical systems, it is essential to commission formal architectural drawings and consult with a Structural Engineer.
